After breakfast, depart for Rabat. Once there, visit the royal city of Rabat with the royal mausoleum, the Hassan Tower and the ancient necropolis. The rest of the journey takes you to Chefchaouen in the northwestern Rif Mountains of Morocco. The town nestles against the surrounding mountains and invites you to stroll and discover its narrow streets, beautiful little squares and blue- and whitewashed houses.

Journey time: 340 km, 5 hrs

Day 3 : Chefchaouen - Meknes - Fès

After breakfast, continue to Meknes via the archaeological site of Volubilis, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, and the small holy city of Moulay Idriss. In Meknes, you will make a stopover to visit the main tourist sites such as Bab Mansour and the old medina. Upon arrival in the city of Fès, your guide will give you a brief introduction to this magnificent city. The imperial city of Fès is the city that most reflects the ancient past of the Moroccan kingdom and its ancient civilization. It was and still is the nucleus of intellectual and spiritual creativity, not only in Morocco but also in the Islamic world. Fès is home to the oldest university in the world, Al Quaraouiyine, and its ancient medina was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981.

Journey time: 260 km, 4.5 hrs

Day 4 : Fès - Midelt - Erfoud -Merzouga

After breakfast we pick you up from your hotel and begin our journey through more of Morocco's highlights. We drive past the small town of Azrou, where you can watch Barbary macaques playing and getting into mischief, before continuing along the road.

Our next stop, Midelt, is at the foot of Ayachi Mountain. Known for the many beautiful apple trees that surround it, Midelt is a stunning town with incredible views, beautiful Moroccan and French architecture and is a commercial hub in the area. We stop here briefly to soak up the atmosphere before continuing over the Tizi n`Talrhemt pass in the Ziz Valley.

Arriving in Merzouga, you will experience a camel ride across the Erg Chebbi sands towards the desert camp. You can watch the sunset from the top of the golden dunes, have an immaculate nomadic dinner prepared by the Berber cooks and enjoy the rest of the evening trying out your new doumbek skills under a starry sky. You will spend a relaxing and restful night in your private tent.

Drive time: 470 km, 7 hrs

Day 5 : Merzouga - Tinghir - Boumalne - Ouarzazate - Marrakech

One of the most impressive sights on the whole tour is to watch the sunrise over the desert in the early morning. After breakfast we have time to explore the dunes, talk to the nomads and relax before heading towards Tinghir and the Todra Gorge.

Tinghir is a small town known for its nearby oasis, located in the middle of the beautiful Little Atlas and High Atlas Mountains. We will stop here to explore the streets, river and gardens, as well as hike up to the nearby hills for some incredible views of the landscape. Explore more of the Dades Gorge before continuing on to Ouarzazate. On the way, we stop in Boutaghrar where we visit Berbers, have a glass of mint tea with them and learn more about their culture.

From here we continue through the famous Valley of Roses - famous for the annual Rose Festival in May (if you would like to visit this festival, please contact us for more information). This festival is one of the most spectacular in the world, with incredible color, music and other festivities for you to take part in.

Time permitting, we will make our way through the numerous rose fields, breathing in the fragrance and exploring the surrounding countryside. Then we will continue towards Ouarzazate and Marrakech. The route takes us to one of the most impressive historical sites in North Africa, the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site Kasbah of Aȉt Ben-Haddou.

Aȉt Ben-Haddou is a perfect example of Moroccan architecture, culture and history, with incredible buildings still standing after hundreds of years. In fact, the Kasbah is famous for its use as a film set in a number of Hollywood movies.

We walk the streets, look at the ancient walls, admire the stunning architecture and make our way to the top of the Kasbah to enjoy the views of the surrounding countryside.

After lunch, we then continue our journey towards Marrakech and drive to Telouet, a small but beautiful Kasbah situated between two mountains. Although the Kasbah looks like a ruin from the outside, the interior is still adorned with the original mosaics, wooden statues and other stunning decorations. Arrive late evening at your hotel in Marrakech.

Journey time: 570 km, 9 hrs

Day 6 : Marrakech - Essaouira - Marrakech

After breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your hotel in Marrakech and you will drive via Chichaoua to Essaouira. Upon arrival in this whitewashed town, you will have time at leisure. A compact fortified port town, Essaouira is easy to visit. Its treasures, specialities and views are within a few minutes' reach and the special atmosphere will transport you to another world. Essaouira has the distinction of being both a remarkable fortified maritime citadel and a comfortable seaside resort that meets all the expectations of vacationers.

In the late afternoon, your driver will take you back to Marrakech. Overnight stay at your hotel.

Journey time: 370 km, 5.5 hrs

Day 7 : Marrakech

You start the day with a guided tour of Marrakech, visiting the Koutoubia Mosque, the Palais Bahia, the Saadian Tombs and the Majorelle Gardens. The afternoon is free for you to explore the ochre city on your own. The lively Djemaa El Fna square deserves a detour.

Recommended experience on your own: visit a traditional communal bread bakery. These communal bakeries used to be part of everyday Moroccan life. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8 : Departure from Casablanca

After breakfast, transfer from Marrakech to Casablanca International Airport.

Travel time: 240 km, 2.5 hrs.
